St Mary's church is built of limestone and rubble in thick mortar was given to the monks of Thorney Abbey by the Trailly family in the 12th century. The Nave dates from the early 13th century, and the Chancel was re-modelled in 1340 when the south aisle was built. The four bells dated 1617,1619, 1717 and 1886 were rehung in 1886. The clock donated by a former rector in 1875 was converted in 1974. A 14th century Easter Sepulchre on the north wall of the chancel and at the base of the north wall of the tower is a lead sheet found in 1892 in commemoration of Mr Williamson who died in 1703. There are three interesting brasses of prior rectors dated 1443, 1628 and 1617. On the north wall of the aisle are inscriptions of the Lord's Prayer and the Ten Commandments, and on the south wall is a figure of St Christopher. There are many other very interesting features in this lovely church with its 16th century pulpit, the font is Early English and the cover is shaped like a spire.
