St Peter's Church, sits on top of the hill and is a large, cruciform church mainly 16th century.
The font is original and the fine oak chancel screen is 15th century. Above the screen is a large organ gallery and case by Temple Moore, 1904, who restored the church. The Perpendicular stalls are kneeling-desks with poppyheads on the ends and panels in front. The pulpit with a sounding board is dated 1631.
The Decorated and Perpendicular church has a richly carved flint porch an preserves a rare sexton’s wheel, is mainly 16th century and has a 12th century Heart Box containing the heart of William de Yaxley, Abbot of Thorney. The west tower is crowned by pinnacles and a flying-buttressed spire.
