Wytham Great Wood set into the side of a Thames-side hill shelters the little village with its willow-lined Seacourt Stream emerging among greystone houses and thatched roofs, a church and the turreted Wytham Abbey.
The Earl of Abingdon rebuilt All Saints Church in 1811, using material from Cumnor Place, his Berkshire house.
Wytham Abbey, Lord Abingdon’s home was built in the 15th century but has been added to over the centuries.
