URPoint Details
Running along the southern boundary of old Radnorshire, the Wye is a delightful river to either fish in or walk beside.
It is a true mountain stream, its bed strewn with great boulders interspersed with deep, swirling pools, rapids and falls and it is a paradise for trout fishermen, as well as being famous for salmon.
In 1308 Edward II took with him 3,000 dried salmon for his Scottish Campaign and many of them came from the Wye.
