URPoint Details
This is an attractive market town with some fine old houses a college dating back to the 15th century and fine walks northwards to Olantigh.
The parish church St Martin and St Gregory was built in the 15th century and largely rebuilt in the 17th century when the tower collapsed, demolishing the nave.
Fire destroyed the original Olantigh Towers and it was rebuilt in 1903 to the same design as the original one dated from 1762.
