Worksop is an ideal touring base for Sherwood Forest and the estates of the Dukes of Kingston, Newcastle and Portland called the Dukeries.
The Priory Church of St Cuthbert and St Mary still retains its Norman west front with two towers and an impressive nave. Part of a 12th century priory, has a 13th century Lady Chapel.
The spire of Clumber Chapel rises 180ft and overlooks Clumber Park and was built in 1886 for the 7th Duke of Newcastle at a cost of £30,000.
