URPoint Details
North across the fields from St Ives, this village is the finest example in Britain of a "Ring Village", retaining its tight little street layout and encircling road of a type found in dense woodland about 1,300 years ago. The woods have long since disappeared but the street plan is practically unaltered.
An unusual and interesting find here are a pair of fire hooks hanging on a wall, once used to remove thatch from burning buildings.
