The village lies between the River Avon and a hill on the edge of a plateau of the New Forest, with typical brick and thatch cottages surrounded by thick hedges to keep out the Forest ponies.
There are some lovely walks to Woodgreen Common and the magnificent mile long walk of oak trees, planted over 200 years ago.
