The birthplace of Nicholas Stone, the great sculptor, who built the Water Gate in 1626 of York House in London, and whose monuments grace many churches including Westminster Abbey.
The 15th century church has a tall west tower and some old woodwork.
To the east lies Woodbury Common, with a grand view of the coast from Berry Head to Portland Bill.
Woodbury Castle is an Iron Age fort at a height of some 600ft.
