Palace ruins has easy access for wheelchair, though pushers are necessary to assist with steps and gravel paths 2 steps to wooden bridge into east hall raised viewing area. Picnics welcome in grounds soft drinks and ice creams available. Disabled WC in public car park 200m away.

The fortified palace of Wolvesley was the chief residence of the Bishops of Winchester and one of the greatest of all medieval buildings in England. Its extensive ruins still reflect the importance and immense wealth of the Bishops of Winchester, occupants of the richest see in medieval England. Wolvesley was frequently visited by medieval and Tudor monarch and was the scene of the wedding feast of Philip of Spain and Mary Tudor in 1554.
