URPoint Details
This little village has been habited for thousands of years from the Neolithic who left tools here, to the Romans with their tiles and the Saxons built a church.
The 15th and 16th centuries was a busy time with building and farms being built, all with massive oak beams suggesting the area was heavily wooded, and the valley has gently sloping fields.
St Andrew’s Church has Norman features, also some Saxon parts.
There is a nice pub called the ‘Plough’.
Wissett Hall is a very large mansion and there is a cute little hump back bridge before you come in the village.
