Winchester Cathedral is a priceless jewel in a scarcely less precious setting. See over 900 years of history, tombs of Jane Austen and Izaac Walton, a unique collection of Chantry Chapels and hear how William Walker, the diver saved the Cathedral in 1906. See the 12th Century illuminated Winchester bible, medieval wall paintings and font. Guided tours are available of the Cathedral, the Deanery, Library and Close. Also visit the Visitors' Centre opened by HM the Queen in late 1993, where a wide range of mementoes can be purchased in the Cathedral Shop. Morning coffee, lunches and Hampshire cream teas are available in Cathedral Refectory.
