St Mary Old Church, (Churches Conservation Trust)
On completion of Wyatt’s ‘Italianate’ church in 1845 the old church in the Market Place was partially demolished, leaving only the chancel with one bay of the nave, and the ruins of the arcade and tower arch. Apart from its charming 18th century ceiling, the chancel has a fascinating collection of memorials.
