This small agricultural village lies in a valley and has some very interesting buildings which have been listed.
The name Wilden means - willow valley and the first written reference was in the Domesday Book of 1086.
There are still several -Ends (once a small hamlet) at Smartwick, Sevick, South End and East End.
The church of St Nicholas dates back to 1340 and has a magnificent churchyard with shade trees. Reverend Francis Dillingham, was one of the translators of the Authorised Version of the Bible, was vicar from 1600 to 1625.
