A village of grey cottages in the lovely wooded Hodder Valley, with lovely riverside walks.
The road follows the river and leads south into a thickly wooded ravine and north through a more open valley to Dunsop Bridge. The road westwards take you to the Trough of Bowland 1000ft a lonely moorland pass with wonderful views
From the village, eastwards the road climbs swiftly into limestone country giving great views over the whole valley.
