URPoint Details
Situated on the Aylesbury to Winslow road, Whitchurch has several attractive timber-framed houses including the Priory, near the church, with its overhanging upper floor.
The church is largely of the 13th and 14th centuries. It retains some early pews and a dignified monument to John Westcar (1833) shown standing in front of a bull. This is significant as Westcar was the famous Creslow farmer who was the first to transport his livestock for sale to London using the Grand Union Canal. Another notable Whitchurch resident was the artist, Rex Whistler who once lived at Bolbec House.
