WEYMOUTH
George the III was the first royal ever to take to bathing in the se, even if it was only a toe.
The Romans, Saxons and Normans have all been here but it was the wealthy Georgians who left their architecture.
In the centre of the Esplanade stands the brightly painted Queen Victoria Jubilee Clock Tower.
The Isle of Portland which shelters the harbour in Weymouth and it is from here that Portland stone has been quarried since the 17th century.
