Originally a small fishing village has a lot of historical interests. The coastal road leads north through the woods to Worlebury Hill and the site of an Iron age camp offering superb views across the Bristol Channel.
Uphill Manor is a Gothic mansion built in the early 19th century.
All Saints Church was built between 1898 and 1902 to a design by George Frederick Bodley and completed by his pupil F. C. Eden in the 14th century style so favoured by Bodley. It is a Grade II listed building.
The medieval church of St John was demolished in 1824 and rebuilt on the same site, though a stump of the medieval preaching cross survives by the exterior south wall.
