A widely scattered village where in1836 most of the land belonged to the lord of the manor at Weston House.
The parish church of All Saints is an ancient building standing in the village centre. The rood screen is 15th century and there is an exceptional wall painting of the Tree of Jesse and one of John the Baptist, both of which have been restored.
