URPoint Details
St Peter's church, built by the monks from Sibton Abbey in 1340, still retains its thatch roof. In the Decorated style, the south aisle still has original windows with a ‘Y’ tracery. The massive tower with eight bells collapsed in 1776.
A smaller wooden tower replaced it and during the Second World War this also collapsed when a bomb fell.
It is a grade II* listed building
