Welwyn Roman Baths

The remains of a Roman bathhouse discovered in the 1960's. The steel vault was erected to preserve the site from destruction when the Motorway was built. There is a cold room, warm room, cold and hot baths and Hypocaust (underfloor heating system) are preserved as fine examples of Roman domestic life. There are many relics on display which have been discovered in and around the area.
