Georgian houses, and the 'Three Cups' pub is dated 1694. This is where the Duke of Wellington took his title.
There is a monument to him erected in 1817 on the Blackdown Hills, south of town.
The Perpendicular church tower has a stair turret reminiscent of those in Devon.
