Boudica pronounced (bu dika) alternative spelling Boudicca and also known as Boadicea. Her husband Prasutagus was King of the Iceni tribe. After he died, Boudicca led her warriors successfully defeating the Roman Ninth Legion and destroying the capital of Roman Britain, then at Colchester.
Unfortunately history cannot be accurate in how she eventually died, whether it was during the battle, killed herself or died of natural causes - but one source states she would never have allowed herself to be captured by the Romans.
The site of the battle, and of Boudicca's death, are unknown, but somewhere between AD60/61
