Saxon village is steeped in history once known as Weeting-cum-Bromehill, on the edge of the fens.
It has many historic places including Grimes Graves, a 12th century boulder flint church, and the ruins of an 11th century castle and icehouse, built for William de Warrenne, son-in-law of William the Conqueror. The area is surrounded by forest this area is a great base for exploring the past by foot or bicycle.
