Waterperry - Church of St Mary the Virgin

The Church of St Mary the Virgin is in a delightful pastoral setting for this 12th century and later medieval church with a Saxon chancel arch. There are old Georgian box pews, splendid medieval and 16th century stained glass, a fine 14th century knight's effigy, interesting brasses and a 19th century monument tinged with melodrama. In the churchyard are the base and shaft of a medieval cross.
