The Church of St Mary the Virgin was completed in 1790, a Grade I listed building, it contains a large monument to Josiah Child. The church is an 18th century Classical style with a pediment built in 1790. Inside are Corinthian columns, a pulpit with a sounding board on two palm trees also from around 1790, box-pews and wrought iron railings
