Wansford - Nene Valley Railway

Disabled visitors are especially welcome at Wansford and on the trains. Stations at Peterborough NVR, Orton Mere, Ferry Meadows and Wansford.

'Driver experience' is also available. 15 mile round trip through Nene Park, and the haunted Wansford tunnel to Yarwell Junction. Wansford Station, is the home to many historic locomotives and coaches. The Locomotive yard is open all year and the Buffer Shop cafe is open on operating days.

Ferry Meadows and Orton Mere are stopping points on the trip where you can alight and enjoy nature trails, pony rides, miniature railway and lovely picnic spots. This is the home of Thomas the Tank Engine who can still be seen pulling wagons or on certain days be seen pulling service trains on the Wansford and Yarwell branch lines.
