Open daily from 10am to 4pm. Sunday from 12 noon to 4pm. Wednesday 11am to 4pm in summer. Winter Monday to Friday 10am to 1pm.
The Abbey was founded in 1030 before the Norman Conquest and consecrated in 1060 by Earl Harold who was brother-in-law to Edward the Confessor.
This Abbey is older than Westminster Abbey and is one of the finest Norman Abbey's, famous for the great nave and fine stained glass windows.
