URPoint Details
Known as the Cathedral of the Fens and is famous for its flower festival. The church was built in the 13th century and the altar end is raised up to go over an ancient footpath known as ‘The Chase’. This makes a passageway under the church, known locally as the ‘bolthole’. The footpath links the village with Walpole St Andrew.
The church is Perpendicular in style and is over 160ft long and is a beautiful building. The interior has some outstanding features, including a chandelier dated 1701, an octagonal 16th century font, a tall Jacobean font cover and brass eagle lectern.
The largely Perpendicular building is Grade 1 listed
