Disabled parking 190m from entrance impacted gravel surface. Access to site via admission point up 6 steep steps from main road assistance is needed and unaccompanied visitors should phone in advance the nature of the site makes it essential for visitors in wheelchairs to be accompanied by a strong pusher as there are many banks and slopes grass is smooth and firm in summer. Museum: access directly from road assistance required with double doors. Tape tour with hearing loop available. Toilets not adapted, but suitable for wheelchair users level access within museum.
The remarkable achievements of the Romans are demonstrated by these remains of a staging post, alongside Watling Street. Foundations of an inn and bath house can be seen, and there is a display of finds in the site museum.
