A small market town with a fine medieval bridge over the River Camel, built by the vicar of Egloshayle, as thought the ferry to dangerous. The bridge is 320ft long, the longest in Cornwall and had originally 17 arches but 1 has since been blocked up. The foundations beneath the pillars are believed to have been based on packs of wool.
