The bridge across the River Tay was begun in 1733 by General Wade, with William Adams as the architect. It is considered to be the finest of all Wade’s bridges.
The Black Watch Memorial is a large cairn surrounded by a kilted soldier, erected close to the bridge in Queen Victoria’s Jubilee year in 1887.
