URPoint Details
Part of the Windsor Park Great Park and in the south-eastern corner is the lake which covers about 160 acres.
Overflow waters from the lake form a cascade which is visible from the Great South-West main road.
The Park was laid out in 1746 by the Duke of Cumberland, victor of the Battle of Culloden.
On the south side is a colonnade of pillars and set here on the orders of George IV from Leptis Magna.
There are many fine picnic spots, and the lake offers boating.
