Urquhart Castle, (HES), beside Loch Ness near Drumnadochit on A82. Open all year. Sunday mornings from 9.30am. Last ticket sold 45 minutes before closing.
Disabled parking available at the sales point; no spaces reserved for disabled drivers. The steep gradients of the castle and access stairs make visiting difficult for wheelchair users or with limited mobility but the views of the loch and castle from car park are wonderful.
The ruins of one of the largest castles in Scotland sits on the banks of one of the most beautiful of all the lochs. Splendid views up and down the loch.
