URPoint Details
This is one of most northerly towns on the peninsula and is renowned as the birthplace in 1764 of Sir John Barrow, founder of the Royal Geographical Society. A huge stone replica of the Eddystone Lighthouse stands on Hoad Hill as a memorial to him.
