On the edge of the Snowdonia National Park lies Tywyn with its great little railway opened in 1865 to carry the local slate, and now carries tourists.
The parish church of St Cadfan, founded in the 6th century contains the earliest example of written Welsh – the 7th century St Cadfan’s Stone.
