In the parish Church of St James is some of the oldest and finest stained glass in Europe.
The glass, dating from the mid-12th century, was smuggled to England in the wake of the French Revolution in 1789.
William IV gave it to Earl Howe, of nearby Gopsall Hall, and he later gave it to the church.
