The priory Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary built in 1100 and is one of the finest Norman churches in the Midlands. Its west front built some fifty years later has a magnificent doorway and seven arches with rich carving. The church has a unique west door with the only known Alabaster Arch (circa 1160) in the country
