Picturesque ruined castle, steeped in history - Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned here. The ruins of a once-imposing castle include three towers, one built by John of Gaunt in the 14th century, a south tower with a winding staircase and two chambers and the high tower in which Mary, Queen of Scots was imprisoned during 1568 and 1569.
