URPoint Details
With delightful stone cottages with high pitched roofs, Turvey stands beside the River Ouse on the Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire borders.
The 16 arched, stone bridge on which medieval courts were once held, dates from 1795. From the bridge, on an island, two large statues affectionately known as Jonah and his wife, can be seen.
Turvey Abbey is a Jacobean House which has been used, since 1980 as a Benedictine Monastery, for both monks and nuns.
