Sitting on the River Spean in Glen Spean with one of the curious 'Parallel Roads' well seen on the hillside to the north.
To the southeast of Loch Treig is the lonely Loch Ossian with the peaks of Beinn Eibhinn rising to 3,611ft and Ben Alder at 3,757 beyond the shores.
To the northeast the road passes a reservoir, dominated by the great mass of Creag Meaghadh rising to 3,700ft to the north and later reaches the lovely little Loch Laggan.
