URPoint Details
A pass lying between Loch Achray and Loch Katrine with Ben A'an on the north and Ben Venue on the south.
The area is deeply wooded with stunted birch, hazel and rowan set among heather and honeysuckle.
The best route runs from Callander and following the westward road at the little village of Kilmahog, passes the huge boulder on Bochastle Hill.
Onto Loch Vennacher on the south are the Menteith Hills, on the north Stuc Odhar. Leaving Loch Vennacher behind the road crosses the ridge to Loch Achray with more magnificent scenery and onto the Brig o'Turk to the fine Trossachs Hotel at its west end with Ben A'an at 1750ft rising to the north.
