Situated in the lonely moorlands of Glen Erochty, on the road linking the Tummel valley with the main Perth to Inverness road.
To the north of Trinafour a rough track leads to Dalnacardoch, part of General Wade's military road constructed in 1730 and climbs to 1,452ft before descending into Glen Garry.
