URPoint Details
Stunning views can be found at this important medieval site which yielded the Totternhoe Stone or Clunch. This stone, a hard form of chalk, has been used in many local churches and also Westminster Abbey and Windsor Castle.
The original quarry has developed into a home of wild flowers including the Sewell Cutting Nature Reserve. The 1848 railway line once linked Leighton Buzzard and Dunstable. It closed in 1967 and is now a nature reserve.
