URPoint Details
This is one of the smallest villages but oh so lovely with a duck pond and little store cum post office standing beside the well waiting to be dressed every May. There are five wells including Yewtree Well, Hall Well, Hands Well, Coffin Well and Town Well.
St Mary’s Church may have been restored in Victorian times but much of the Norman architecture remains.
The porch, reached between yew trees, shelters an early-Norman doorway whose pillars have marks said to have been where the local men sharpened their arrows.
