Tidmarsh

In the Eastern part of the District and roughly equidistant from Pangbourne, Theale and the outskirts of Reading, Tidmarsh is a compact village built almost certainly on the line of a direct Roman road from Silchester to Dorchester on Thames. Much of the village consists of 19th century Tidmarsh Manor estate cottages, but there are also several older buildings of interest including the Mill House, which is probably on the site of a mill that was in use as early as 1239, the Old Toll House and the half-timbered Greyhound Inn.
