URPoint Details
Thornham Parva's tiny thatched Norman church has a 14th century octagonal font, a medieval painting and is must to see. Its most interesting feature is the painted retable of 1300. The painting is in its original frame and contains a Crucifixion and eight saints, four to the left and four to the right. The figures are elegant in design and have gesso background worked in various patterns. The painting was discovered in a stable in 1927.
