The Seven Stars on St. Thomas Lane in the Redcliffe district of the city, was first recorded in 1694, and is a grade II listed building.
It is associated with the abolitionist Thomas Clarkson who visited in 1787 and used the pub and its sympathetic landlord, Thompson, as a base for his researches into Bristol's "honourable trade" of slavery.
