URPoint Details
Elie is the third oldest course in the world, founded in 1875, with testing holes along the seashore, crisp seaside turf and superb putting surfaces are the hallmark of this fine 36-hole links course only a few miles from St Andrews.
A local smuggler called McDuff hid in the caves next to the course when pursued by the authorities. Another unusual feature is the periscope allowing the starter to see over the hill in front of the first tee. It was rescued from the submarine HMS Excalibur.
The Clubhouse has been offering great food since 1877 with fresh local ingredient. The dining room overlooking the 1st tee is simply stunning and offers elegant two and three course sumptuous meals. Or why not just enjoy a snack instead.
Hand pulled trolleys are available for rent from the golf shop as well as the best of everything else you will need.
