Glasgow’s world famous covered market with an amazing variety of stalls and shops, founded over one hundred years ago, The Barras is home to more than 800 traders.

The author (Pat Dalton) remembers the Barras with fond memories as here Grandfather used to take her there on a Saturday in the 50's & 60's. She always came home with something nice!. The Barras were still stalls in lanes and the sellers used to call out 'Not a plate for five bob but a three piece set'. He would shout his wares and it was all so exciting.
